This BIG Owl statue illustrates the spread of the owl's wings. Note also the curvature of the wings. Quite different from that of a crow. The owl has wider, more circular wings. The feathers are different too. They are not rigid, like an eagle's. They are soft and have feathered ends. These feathers allow this owl to fly noiselessly.
Since owls are nocturnal animals, their eyesight has been designed for the darkness and they have the military version of "night vision."
If you have a farm or place with mice or rats, instead of a cat, an owl would be useful too. The statue is made of resin and has been handpainted.

The BIG animal statues are made of resin and hand painted. They are hollow. If you are looking for a statue that was designed for outdoors – this isn’t it. We have an iron bull and an iron moose, that are outdoor animals. You could take the BIG animal outside for a few hours, don’t put in the sun, and make sure weather is good. One lady, recently widowed, bought a Howling Wolf and put the wolf on her inside porch. It makes her feel safer. But, it’s inside, not sitting on the outside porch steps. These are fabulous animal statues….many are being discontinued because of rising costs. If you like one of these BIG statues, buy it and find a pleasant place for it to inhabit. An Amazon warehouse bought our BIG lion (now discontinued) for their lobby and had a mural painted for its “home” setting. Enjoy!
