Black Bear Statue - astroll

There are many species of bears. In the United States, the most common is the black bear which has a population of close to one million.

This black bear statue is made of resin and has been hand painted to resemble wild black bears. This bear seem to be taking a slow walk. 

We've been taught that bears hibernate.

Did you know in Alaska a black bear typically hybernates for 7 months? But, black bears in Florida do not hybernate. Instead they go into a state known as "torpor" also known as winter blues - a period of inactivity.
