This marvelous horse sculpture depicts an equestrian rider vaulting over a wall. It's a steeplechase!
The rider has both feet in the stirrups and a very firm grip on the reins so as not to be thrown off during the jump. He is also wearing a helmet for protection. The horse has its rear legs on the ground and its front legs and torso are mid-jump over the vaulting wall.
