This red fire hydrant has a small dalmatian dog sitting atop. The bank is made of ceramic.
Did you know that in the 18th Century Dalmatian's would run alongside the fire wagons as they sped to a fire. The purpose of the dog was to keep other animals from getting near the spokes of the wheels. It took a long time before the Dalmatian became the "official" fire house dog. That occurred in 2019.
