Falcon Close-up Photo Art

For thousands of years falcons have been used in hunting. Falcons are thought to migrate as much as 15,500 miles each year. The tell-tale striped chest says this bird is a peregrine falcon. Great close-up photo taken by our internationally acclaimed photographer. Large photo measures 16 x 20".

The peregrine is renowned for its speed. It has been clocked at 242 mph, which makes it the faster member of the animal kingdom. I was birding near the Cliff House in San Francisco when a Peregrin flew out of a tree above me, went close to my head, and landed up catching something on the beach. It WAS fast. Falcons are very important to the Middle East. In Dubai it's been known for the owner to purchase an airline ticket just so the falcon has it's own seat!
