In movies the magnificent castles and estate house in England frequently have a suit of armor on display. It's understandable why this would happen. First, the cost of the body armor was around the cost of a car today. So, you had to be rich to be able to afford the custom armor for the knight and the horse. Second, the people who were knights were landowners and they were rich.
If you paid that much for your body armor, wouldn't you keep it? Even generations later - you're relatives have kept your armor. Must be proud of you! At least that's a point of view I have.
This English knight statue is made of pewter. It is a relatively small statue, but the detail it has it pretty amazing. Take time and look closely. Quite well done.
