Shih Tzu Dog Statue is made of resin which is why it's hair can be so detailed and look so real. It has been handpainted. Even the statue's eyes and nose look real. Great rendition. At 9 inches it is practically life size.
Some believe that a Shih Tzu was created by crossing a Pekingese with a Llasa Apso. The Chinese loved this little dog so much that it was not allowed outside of China until 1930. The Shih Tzu spread throught out Europe and American soliders returning from WWII introduced it to the USA.
Our Shih Tzu spent little time living with us since it was stolen in the first few weeks. It was all black and we had named it Chopsticks. An adorable dog.
